[info]diannabolical got me looking at one of her favorite artists, Audrey Kawasaki. For the art subject matter of beautiful young girls there is something almost disturbing about her artwork. The first time i looked at these paintings i felt a sadness, but after a while the sadness turned into an uncomfortable eeriness. This is one of my favourites:

The fact that something so beautiful can make me so unconfortable is one of the reasons i felt i had to share this with others on my journal. Appriciation isn't just about whether you like it or not, but rather whether it speaks to you and envokes response.

Id advise you to take a look and make a decision for yourself.

Personally it freaks me out. It looks as if you look at her lopng enough she will smile and break the swans neck--crazy i know but it does!
i wouldn't think about her killing the swan, but more that its a sad metaphor for something my sinister. like the swan doesn't mean "a swan" to the girl, not like it would mean to the rest of us.
